// About the Organization

United Hatzalah is Israel’s fully-volunteer emergency nationwide medical service, providing fast, free and professional emergency medical treatment to anyone in need 24/7.

// Project Description

United Hatzalah's 140 Kiryat Gat-Lachish-Shafir volunteers who are medics, paramedics and doctors, respond to more than 6,000 emergencies a year. In order to provide the best response for the residents of the Partnership region, this project is both in-person learning as well as an advanced online program and also includes refresher training. The training course consists of a thorough and expanded brush-up on anatomy, physiology, resuscitation, trauma, anamnesis, IV, emergency births, managing mass-casualty events, psychological first aid and emergency driving - in order to ensure the best outcomes for the sick and injured in the Partnership region.

// Project Goals

From the moment they arrive at the scene, United Hatzalah volunteers have only a few minutes to save the life of the sick or injured. They must be trained and qualified in countless types of emergencies and treatments, and they must be capable of making critical decisions within seconds. This project will provide the volunteers with extended training in order to respond to the EMS needs in the Partnership region.

// Target Population

140 United Hatzalah volunteers will be directly affected by the project, as well as indirectly- 6,000 citizens of the Partnership region who receive fast, free, and professional emergency medical treatment each year.
