// About the Organization

Hinneni association strives to eradicate racism and prejudice towards the Ethiopian community in Israel by creating a positive presence of the Ethiopian heritage through the communities and Beta Israel Village.

// Project Description

The project focuses on strengthening a sense of community by providing for others, creating change and becoming more involved. All activities will emphasize Ethiopian heritage and tradition. The project is made up of two components:

The first: intergenerational connection – bringing together veteran families and younger families through mutual activities, fieldtrips and volunteering

The second: partnering with local learning centers in order to create a shared project with youth in the region. The program includes a variety of activities twice a month.

// Project Goals

The purpose of the project is to develop a supportive young community and create solidarity between residents by connecting them to the heritage of Ethiopian Jewry. The program will encourage intergenerational bonds through joint value based activities and will develop social involvement in the region, by cooperating with organizations who promote activities- especially between teenagers and senior citizens.

// Target Population

15 women leaders from the Ethiopian community of Kiryat Gat aged 35-50. Their family members, co-workers, their children's schools, and their community will be indirectly influenced by the program.
