// About the Organization

The Lachish Regional Community Center serves as the heart of the communities in the council and the place that connects between the communities. The Lachish Community Center works to empower and strengthen the residents' sense of communal belonging.

// Project Description

The project strives to improve the quality of life of children and adults in the region who are dealing with disabilities. The program will create a sense of belonging within the community, exposing both those dealing with and without disabilities with different parts of the community. The project will be a source of support to families dealing with disabilities.

// Project Goals

There are hundreds of families living in the region who have a family member who is dealing with disabilities. Most of the accessible services and leisure activities are far and require independence and mobility. This project will provide an alternative local framework combining social activities, workshops, support groups as well as connecting between families. The families will be part of the decision making regarding the different activities and will form a Parents’ Forum. Community events will raise awareness to those dealing with disabilities.

// Target Population

The target population for this project is approximately 50 children and 30 adults who are dealing with disabilities. The second circle will be the families of the participants, along with hundreds of other residents from the community who will join the activities and culture events.
