// About the Organization
Krembo Wings is the only fully inclusive youth movement in Israel, and the first of its kind in the world, bringing together children and youth with and without disabilities to create a cohesive, inclusive society.
// Project Description
The Kiryat Gat branch of Krembo Wings has been an integral part of the community for over a decade, offering inclusive, informal social-educational programs for local children and youth with and without disabilities. Activity takes place twice a week in the afternoons. The branch in Kiryat Gat uses a unique peer-mentoring model to empower young people of diverse-ability, to take part and become changemakers in an inclusive and meaningful society.
// Project Goals
The purpose of the project is to provide a supportive social framework for 40 children and teenagers in Kiryat Gat, among them 10-12 who have mild to complex disabilities. The project focuses on raising awareness by cooperating with the municipality and by recruiting in schools. Goals of the project include creating a routine of ongoing activities to ensure stability, while dealing with post-war repercussions, as well as strengthening local youth leadership through training seminars and a unique "youth leading youth” model.
// Target Population
The project is designed for 40 young participants from Kiryat Gat, including 10–12 with disabilities between the ages 7–22. Indirectly, it will impact approximately 200–300 individuals, including families of the participants, school staff, and municipal stakeholders in the branch’s activities.
