// About the Organization
IGY, The Israeli national youth and young adults LGBTQ+ organization is dedicated to creating safe spaces for more than 4,500 participants from all identities and Israeli sectors.
// Project Description
The project will include continuation and expansion of the activities of IGY’s social group for LGBTQ+ youth ages 12-18. The group will meet on a weekly basis and will be open for all youth, with no participation fee. Participants will take part in monthly regional get-togethers, seminars and camps, and will hold a local pride month event with their friends and family members. The group will be guided by local volunteers in addition to a regional coordinator and social worker.
// Project Goals
The purpose of the project is to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth, enabling them to ask questions regarding their sexual and gender identity, meet peers who are dealing with similar questions and receive guidance. To decrease at-risk behavior such as depression, anxiety, solitude and self-harm, and to promote acceptance towards local LGBTQ+ individuals.
// Target Population
First Circle: 25-40 LGBTQ+ youth from various identities ages 12-18 who are living in the partnership region. Second Circle:100 Participants' parents and family members. Third Circle:150 participants’ close friends and pride event participants.
