// About the Organization
The Yaakov Herzog Center has been operating for over thirty years in kibbutz Ein Tzurim- serves as a hub for engaging with Jewish identity.
// Project Description
Creating Space is a creative ‘Beit Midrash’ for artists, creators and cultural entrepreneurs in the partnership region. Participants will experience creativity through dialogic learning focusing on social issues. Sessions will be inspired by the traditional and Judaic literature and by the southern surrounding environment. At the end of the year, the program will conclude with a peak event - a festival or multidisciplinary exhibition that will present the creative products to the general public.
// Project Goals
The Creating Space initiative is designed to strengthen local creators and artists in the partnership region. For many years, artists have been leaving the periphery, causing a loss of the unique voice of southern artists in Israeli culture. The initiative aims to change this by creating a space for inspiration and creativity inspired by Jewish tradition, while strengthening the creators' sense of belonging and meaning to their environment.
// Target Population
The project is designed for approximately 15 participants aged 20-50 from the partnership region who are professionally engaged in creative work and will take part in the meetings. The festival will be attended by about 200 people including children, seniors and residents of the area.
