// About the Organization
Shaar Shivion strives to reduce social gaps in Israel's society, by using the power of sport as a tool for education and social change. The organization works in the social periphery with disadvantaged communities.
// Project Description
The project aims to reduce gender gaps by creating soccer teams for girls that combine professional soccer training and regional tournaments alongside social activities that focus on female empowerment, development of life skills, leadership, self-confidence, body image, a sense of belonging and more. The teams operate in schools, creating an accessible and appealing framework. The project provides an empowering framework for girls and young women to develop leadership skills that will enable them to become future leaders and promote (more) equality in Israeli society.
// Project Goals
To connect girls to the world of football by forming an accessible and appealing framework. To develop leadership skills and female empowerment. To increase self-confidence and feelings of accomplishment. To connect communities from different backgrounds.
// Target Population
Girls ages 9-12 in the partnership area. Direct impact on 90 participants. 180 parents will be affected by the fact that their children will receive a quality framework for the afternoon and hundreds of girls will be indirectly affected by the exposure to this program, encouraging them to participate next year.
