The Merage Foundation Israel is a private philanthropic foundation established by David and Laura Merage. The Foundation is engaged in a variety of social and economic fields.
// Project Description
Connected to Life program was established in order to reduce technological gaps between the younger generation and the elderly and to alleviate loneliness. Every senior citizen is matched with a young volunteer who trains and supports them to effectively use their smartphone and become more independent and productive. Each participant receives an information training manual.
// Project Goals
The program has four main goals: alleviating loneliness, increasing the independence of senior citizens, connecting between generations, renewing and preserving social and family ties.
// Target Population
Number of participants : between 400-600 volunteer teenagers or students as well as approximately 800 senior citizens. The program will indirectly impact families, relatives and friends of the senior citizens and the volunteers.
