// About the Organization
Marianne's Center is a non profit organization, focused on narrowing gaps and providing each child with an opportunity to thrive and reach their potential. The center has a wide variety of responses and programs in education, therapy, training, enrichment and more.
// Project Description
The project trains volunteers who have a background in education, to help at-risk and welfare families who have new born or young children. Once a week the volunteer arrives at the family's house, in order to provide assistance, guidance and strengthen parenting and household skills. Once every two weeks the volunteers receive training from experts as well as ongoing supervision from the program coordinator, who also supports the families with financial challenges through welfare services.
// Project Goals
The purpose of the project is to provide support and assistance to welfare and at-risk families who have new born babies or children up to the age of 6. The project offers, through the help of trained volunteers, professional counseling, guidance and skill development to address the children's needs. The project reduces socioeconomic gaps and promotes equal opportunities for disadvantaged families, while strengthening the child-parent relationship.
// Target Population
50 volunteers accompany 50 families and new mothers. The indirect beneficiaries are other family members.
